You may have noticed by now that we don’t do things like other spirit brands. Where others might use a cocktail glass or still in their logos, we thought we might do something more personal and nuanced. Designed by long-time WHR collaborator Kevin Tudball, our newest shirt features a California poppy and an All-Seeing eye.

The inspiration for this design was to highlight diversity, permaculture, beauty, trust, transparency, patience… all of the things that can and should be influences in the production of food and beverage, even if the status quo doesn’t agree.

Our perspective is that society’s agricultural plans and actions should include the understanding that no matter what, we will be impacting wildlife and local soils. It is imperative that we do so with an intentional grace, not greed or dismissiveness. Those missteps will always come back to destroy us.

The poppy signifies the need to allow LOCAL pollinator flowers in our agricultural spaces and to support their growth against invasive plants and climate change in wild spaces. These pollinators flowers feed our birds and bugs which are the basis of human existence as well.

The All-Seeing Eye speaks to us as open-minded transparency. There is beauty in acceptance of what is and acting accordingly. There is freedom in denying the paranoia culture of modern “progress” which has cost our lands and living creatures so much. We do not need to farm or provide food in the destructive way that is standard today. The only way to a greener future is a holistic perspective that allows all voices of flora and fauna, but first we must see what is and imagine what could be.
